Another month and another missed deadline

Another month and another missed deadline

Well it is the New Year and another month has passed, but alas the new version of this web site is still not finished :-( Work is progressing nicely though with the new look front-end largely completed, the article publishing system half way there, and the scalable interface revised.

The following work is still outstanding though:

  • User account functionality.
  • Image and HTML caching functionality.
  • Auto generating printer-friendly versions of articles (with PDF to follow!).
  • User commenting system on articles.
  • Forum!
  • Conversion of old articles (70+) to new publishing format.

As you can see I have my work cut out for me, while I am reluctant to do an update to the live server until all of this work is completed and tested. Basically my policy now is to leave the live site in a state of hibernation until the new version is finished, and then do a full update. Hopefully I will be closer to achieving this by the end of January.
